We feel fortunate to pair our diversified team of dreamers and doers with ambitious partners day after day. If you haven’t met the newest additions to our growing roster, consider this an official introduction!

Meet Adam Garrett: Energizer, Amplifier, Doer, Executive Director of Strategy and Growth

A book worth reading

How the Mind Works by Stephen Pinker — A mind-expanding book that explores the role that language plays in shaping both how we think and what we choose to think about.

A film worth watching

The Comedy — The funniest movie I’ve ever seen that I never actually laughed at while watching. A dark, sad, obscene, and human peek into the lives of a group of Brooklyn hipsters past their prime and not yet ready to grow up.

A concept worth knowing

CISNAC: Correlation Is Not A Cause — Too often, things that move together are misunderstood to have a causal relationship when they could actually be caused by something else, but impacted in different ways.

Meet Becca deLumeau: Dreamer, Perfectionist, Idealist, & Designer

An activity worth doing

Winter hiking — At first I was turned off by the idea of walking around in the freezing cold of winter, but then I hiked Yosemite’s Half Dome in February with the park essentially all to myself. Winter hikes are uniquely quiet, peaceful, and gorgeous.

A recipe worth trying

Spicy sausage and white bean soup — This is one of my favorite recipes because it’s delicious, easy, and healthy. I’m not even a fan of soup and I love this meal. All you have to do is chop all the ingredients, throw them in a pot, let it simmer, and violá, you’re a fancy chef. I highly recommend pairing with your favorite homemade bread.

A book worth reading

Red Rising by Pierce BrownThis is one of those books that takes you through a roller coaster of emotions with unexpected twists and turns as you follow the main character, Darrow, on his journey to end oppression and search for freedom. Look no further if you need a good book to take while traveling or to pass the time.

Meet Alec Whitmore: Senior Designer, Illuminator, Rare Beverage Enjoyer

A film worth watching

Playtime — Everyone should check out Jacques Tati’s Playtime (1967). It’s basically an absurdist French comedy set in a live-action adaptation of a Where‘s Waldo spread. Every shot unleashes a panoramic frenzy igniting a wondrous sense of observation. The closer you pay attention, the more visual treasures you’ll unearth.

An artist worth following

Nicole McLaughlin — An upcycling alchemist who takes our society’s coolest junk and transforms it into incredible (and functional) works of art. Dropping in on her work, you just never know what you’re going to see next. An oven mitt fashioned out of tennis balls? Yup. Shorts made out of sandwiches? You betcha! It’s work that always leaves me creatively rejuvenated, and I wish I could wear it all.

An activity worth doing

Photography — As a big fan of the magic found in the mundane, I think it’s always worthwhile to take the extra time to snap pictures while going on neighborhood walks. You don’t have to post them anywhere, but just the act encourages your eye to find secrets hidden in plain sight.

Meet Ellery Cogswell: Optimistic, Encourager, Organizer, Doer

A recipe worth trying

Perfect Instant Ramen — In case you’re wondering how to make a packet of instant ramen even worse for your health and higher in sodium, you need to give this NYT Cooking recipe a try. You’ve probably never had anything like it but you can trust it’s good because, well, butter.

A book worth reading

The Gift of Nothing by Patrick McDonnell — Yep, it’s a children’s picture book. But it’s the sweetest little story you’ve ever read. Guaranteed to make you smile. Plus it helps tap into that childlike energy and curiosity we all hold somewhere within.

A piece of advice worth following

“In the end, everything will be ok. If it’s not ok, it’s not yet the end.”
— My grandma has said this to me my whole life, so of course, I always assumed she made it up. Upon some quick google searching that isn’t the case (sorry Gran). This quote is from Brazilian writer Fernando Sabino. I think this saying can apply to all aspects of life and brings comfort in those inevitable times of stress.
